This is the time that I should realize my promise. I would like to share with you my interview experience and my whole application procedure including my pain, my swing, my joy and my success. Promise is promise.

I am a financial analyst, female, single. Application submitted in HK 2000, Feb. I took the test but no waive. Then I transferred my file to BJ in Feb. this year, asking for Standby. While according to the date they notified me to attend the INV. I was not arranged for the Inv. because I was in the standby, but because I should have been interviewed based on normal procedure.

I took the interview couple of days ago in Beijing. It is a little bit cold outside, but I can easily handle it as I spent four years here, I felt like I was going home. The autumn has passed by, but I can still smell the sense of touch, walking on the beautiful and peaceful pedestrian, I was walking on the way leading to a new world. Actually I didn’t feel any nervous and exciting after such a long delay, and within the whole procedure I suffered, I struggled, I lost. However, my friends told me that “you still need to celebrate it as you just opened the door to the free world. No matter how easy and comfortable you used to be in China and no matter how harsh and difficult it might be in Canada, you widen your road for more promising life with your convincing quality. Be proud of yourself and be grateful. Then you have more reasons to smile. “ But I cried when I was walking on the road, I was peaceful in heart, and I was not cry for the result but for everything I lost during this cruel fight. I know it is not easy for anybody on this road, everybody got his own reason to do this and everybody got his own torture within the procedure, but I did, lost badly and did experienced more than some of you. Not because of the delay not because of the cozy life I will give up here. For I even almost lost my faith. Lost my faith to life, to pursue, to love, to hope. Finally I won, won something-the whole process, the whole painful experience. I might get nothing I want, but I have got everything I need to survive in the future world. Never lose your faith no matter what happened, that is why I called myself as faithinheart. And find yourself a reason to do anything, don’t pursue blindly, the point here is whether you believe you will win it back. On this, I agree with my friend, nobody here can be your future teller. You yourself decide your fate.

The environment of the waiting room is comfortable for me, full of light and warm, with several counters before the waiting seats. If you have chance to be there try once before taking the interview, then you will not feel strange that day. But it is also noise as all kinds of visa were dealt there. On the right side of the room, there were two long lines waiting to process new application submission and fee payment. On the left is the little room for submitting interview document. Get yourself a serial number waiting for your number being called, family imm. is initiated as 8, for us the independent Imm. Began as 5. I was the last one that morning, coz my number is 5-010. First time call is asking you to submit your original document and other supporting document such as working sample and information you think might be useful other than the required one. The second call means it is your turn.

It seems that morning most of the immigrants are couples and looked not very young. I chatted with a girl from shanghai, she is Family Imm. And she had waited for almost a year, she kept complain about the efficiency of the Embassy, and they even made an error by sending her wrong notification mixed with somebody else. At least two of the couples came for the second time, I asked them why, they just swing the heads with smile and didn’t tell me why. I can tell the nervous from their face. Some of the couple was not coming together, but one by one, maybe depends on the case. One told me that they passed the interview at July last year, but they were told to get a background check. And the check took them a year and four months waiting. At then his wife was in the room. I asked another husband, he just came out and his wife being called, he is the supplement one. He told me that the officer was very kind and asked him to take it easy and be relaxed at first. And they chatted even telling funny stories; the time lasted for an hour. When I came in, his wife just out, but they were told to wait for a further decision. As I know that morning at least four couples were told to wait for a further notification. Tension suddenly fulfilled the seemly bright room.

Everybody was notified to get the interview at 10:00, but I wait until 12:00 to get my second call. Following a Chinese girl, I was led to a fat mid-aged woman. She is wearing at least 20 wrist laces on her hand, seems lousy for me. Frankly speaking, the room is comfortable and very beautiful. I was dreaming a nice talk one, and I was smiling when I stepped into the room, but she didn’t look at me and began to talk before I start my prepared opening greet somewhat. Well just cut out bullshit and get to the point. My smile froze in the air and broke into pieces when she asked me to reiterate her word. But challenge me? Not that easy. Then she asked me some normal questions, I will list them one by one here. The girl who led me into the room sat besides me. As I know she was doing the interpret job and usually they will sit besides watching the whole procedure. The officer kept typing my words into the computer and she kept swung her head all the time, I thought she may not satisfied with my answer at first, but she didn’t challenge me either. It lasted for about 15 minutes and she passed me my original application form at the end, meanwhile told me that she was very satisfied with my adaptability and my performance and she decided to accept my application on the condition of the result of the medical examination. And they will issue my LP within three months after they receive my fee and ME.( Still no smile). I signed and left. When I worked out the room. I said to her: have a nice day. She then smiled and said: you are lucky. I asked her why. She told me: well you are the first one that I passed this morning. I said thanks and closed the door. While I think it is not something about luck, I want to tell her, but I didn’t. I took the ME that afternoon, and paid the fee directly to the cashier using RMB( 5350). That’s all.

Tips:
l Officer is not friendly, but that does not mean she want to fail your case, Actually she decided to let me pass after she checked my information. Therefore, she only asked several normal questions.
l Don’t be nervous, listen to what she say, sometimes you might just missed the point and gave the wrong answer. She asked the question one by one without any delay or interval.(连珠炮) I felt I am passive in the interview, because she didn’t let me to give any further answers, and she always interrupted my words rudely.
l Slow down, and answer with a stable pace. During the whole procedure, she kept asking me to slow down as she had to key in the information into the computer.
l Whether you should be active depends on the officer’s attitude. This one is certainly tied up of the bullshit answers that we prepared to offer. At first, I try to explain to her why I changed my job. She just told me she knew it and don’t want to hear my answers.
l Answer should be brief and simple
l Don’t try to fool the officer
l Give a close to each of your answer.
