How Can You Get Your Visa?

When it comes to visa, almost every one of us worries. There
are plenty of rumors floating around: " It is hard to get a visa
if the school ranking is not high." "Only full financial aid has
a chance." "My wife should apply for her F-2 visa seperately
from my application."

One thing we need to understand visa application is that the
Visa Officer can easily find all kinds of excuses to reject your
application. So whatever excuses the VO tells us is most likely
just an excuse, NOT THE TRUE REASON. So what are the most
important aspects that determines your fate in visa application?
In our opinion, it is your confidence, your interview skills,
and your sincerety in reasons for going abroad.

Believe me, the US wants you to go!

For Chinese visa applicants, the most frequently heard and
the most hated phrase is probably the "immigration tendency."

Every years, tens of thousands visa applications are thrown
out of the US Embassy's windows with a tiny but ruthless mark on
a simple sheet: Section 214 (b), immigration tendency.

Yet, almost every Chinese applicant applying for a visa has
the intention to immigrate to the US, right? Don't the American
visa officers know about this fact? Of course, they do! Given
how much Americans love to use data, they know exactly how many
Chinese students have returned to China and how many have stayed.
Their own figure puts the percentage of non-returning Chinese
students at about 95%.

So what would you have done if you were a visa officer and
your country is truly sensitive to "immigration tendency?" Won't
you have stopped issuing any student visa unless you are
absolutely sure that the student will come back? Don't you think
you will greatly reduce the number of student visa issued? Don't
you want to even create some mechanism -- such as penalty money
-- to guarantee that a student will come back to China?

But in fact, there are currently more than 50 thousand
Chinese students holding an F-1 visa. Of them, 47.5 thousand
will apply for a green card and definitely have the so called
"immigration tendency." And the US Embassy is continuing to
issue more and more student visas.
